This year our ambulance service has implemented a new type of training schedule for both our members and friends in the area to increase our knowledge. To help us with this endeavor, we have asked our neighbors to educate us based on their expertise. In January, we have had the greatest pleasure to have Westchester Medical Center Trauma Service in to discuss trauma care. In February we have had discussions with two of our favorite ER doctors from WMC and WPH to discuss STEMI care. And most recently we visited with our friend Steve Kardian at his Rose Hill Self Defense Studio to give us some insight on how to defend ourselves! These training sessions have been a very large positive motivator in training. If you are interested in attending, feel free to contact us.&nb...

Hurricane Irene came through Valhalla and North White Plains with a BANG. Fortunately Valhalla Ambulance Corps was prepared. In conjunction with Pleasantville Ambulance, Mt. Pleasant Police, Valhalla Fire Department, North White Plains Fire Department, Mt. Pleasant Highway and Water Departments, along with many other services, we held together and made it through what we expected to be worse then what was delivered. Valhalla VAC stationed one ambulance in North White Plains Fire Department, one in our headquarters, a crew to work the designated shelter at the Community Center, and one at the designated Emergency Operating Center at the Police Department. Our prep meeting started at 1700 hrs with a nutritious dinner before we went out to help our towns. The 15 volunteers members did a fantastic job pulling off an 18 hour shift! Thank you to all who helped out on this endeavor. &nb...
